The Simpsons House

With the Simpsons movie out now (it's tremendous but I've promised not to give any spoilers), I've been thinking about the house they built in Vegas. I don't know what happened to it (it should have been turned into a museum), but I finally found a virtual tour and floor plans.

Writers Room

Comedy too smart for its own good.

Drucker and I have been planning this show for months and yet it snuck up on us. Rififi's had an opening and we grabbed it. We've got a hell of a lineup there (probably the best we ever had) and if there's a big enough audience we can do it again. Those of you who say "I'll go to the next big show you have" this is it.

New Sarcasting

RG has unveiled his latest episode of Sarcasting. I'm in it but you'll never see my face. I'm still proud of it. See why.

KT Tunstall

Here's the latest song I'm obsessed with. I first heard KT Tunstall on the radio two days after Ben was born. I got back to the house and she was on Austin City Limits. That day. Hard to ignore.

Turns out this song has been out for three years but is only starting to gain momentum thanks to a reality show. The music industry post implosion.

Steam Pipe Explosion

Rebecca Lloyd posted some great shots of the steam pipe explosion by Grand Central the other day. I had no idea this happened until I got her email. I was busy letting a baby hit me as hard as he can.

The other pictures are here but you'll need to register.

Ben Week 3

Ben doesn't like sleep. He needs it, he's just unwilling to go there. So he fights to keep his eyes open and he gets crankier and crankier. Any parents got tips?

John and Paul and Jerry and Larry

Steve Walsh is a sharp guy. He's been an ad copywriter for as long as I've known him and was a stand-up for a couple of years. I take pride in nudging him to create Rock Turtleneck, one of the funniest and most insightful classic rock blogs you will ever see.

But I never thought he'd do something this inspired.

Ben Week Two

Giving the people what they want.

By the way, Ben was born to Beck's "Mutations". No reason, that was just what came up on itunes when Renee screamed "more music!" in labor. But now we have to forgive Beck for cancelling his set at the Field Day Festival four years ago. Beck, you are once again welcome in our house. Don't screw it up.

The New Seven Wonders of the World

It's a good thing we just renamed the seven wonders of the world because I couldn't remember the last seven. I assume the number eight slot is still held by King Kong.

Update

Ben is home and we are all adjusting to the new schedules. He eats, poops and sleeps and we try to understand which he is doing at any given moment.

In non baby news (if there is such a thing) I'm doing my first show posts baby this Thursday. I'll be hosting in my old neighborhood of Sunnyside and since it's a holiday weekend you might want to stop by.
